Providing the Highest Quality Hospice Care for the Mississippi Gulf Coast
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself to you. My name is Beth Seymour, and I am the Administrator of Canon Hospice – Mississippi. It is my mission and the mission of all who are blessed to work in this most difficult, yet rewarding field to help you understand hospice and it’s meaning and moreover to understand that hospice is a “calling” for each of us. Sharing your loved one with us is a gift and a privilege!
Ten years ago, I experienced hospice with my own dad. Without completely understanding hospice or the process, I trusted in the nurses, CNA's and volunteers who cared for my dad. Although I certainly noticed the “care,” it was the love that stuck with me; so when I was given the opportunity to work in the hospice field, I knew exactly what I wanted our patients and their families to remember….the love!
With both caring in the field and in our inpatient unit, our service is second to none. We’d like to think we go above and beyond the norm with our Akula Foundation services as well. Our Akula Foundation is a 501©(3) corporation and is mentioned separately under its own tab on this site.
I invite you to tour our facility or just come visit and have a cup of coffee with us! We’d love to share what Canon Hospice has to offer.
In closing, we hope to do small things with great love and change the lives of the patients and families we serve by “Making Every Moment Meaningful.”
Beth Seymour, Administrator
“My sister was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer last year. She was brought to Canon Hospice where she was loved and cared for until she passed away in September. The staff at Canon Hospice were amazing. They were always eager to help in any way they could and took care of my sister as if she were their sister too. Above and beyond. Night or day. Thank you Canon Staff for your support and care. Susan's end of life care was made so much better by the loving care you gave her and the care and love we were allowed to give her 24/7.”
“Thanks to all the nurses, CNAs and other on-the-floor/hands-on staff for making mama's passing easier for her and our family.”
"Our family will always remember the kind care my Dad received at Canon in Gulfport. It's a peaceful place and it brought us great comfort for him to be there in his final days. Pam Lott was amazing every step of the way! Thank you to all of the wonderful staff."
